FTM Africa Prison Ministry

Thousands of men and women are caught in a destructive cycle of crime and imprisonment. Without knowing God’s hope or experiencing Christ’s love, the story repeats over and over, shattering families and harming communities. But the cycle can be broken.

God is raising up local churches and volunteers just like you to walk alongside people inside and outside of prison on their road to restoration. On 10th February Family Transformation Ministries visited the Naivasha Maximum Prison, this prison houses 3,300 inmates. They run a school from Pre Unit to University, currently, they have 1,100 attending the school. The shocking this the biggest percentage is in lower primary, the Pre unit class has three streams. The big question that I am asking myself Is crime connected to illiteracy?

On the 13th March 2012, Family Transformation Ministries in partnership with Kenya Prison Services launched the Woman of Peace training. Benji with her team of facilitators has so far trained 500 inmates and warders to become Women of Peace instead of being Women in pieces. The woman of Peace program was written by Linda Robinson it is an initiative that helps women to find their purpose in life. Remember Jesus said in Math25:36 I was in prison and you came to me”
